Description:
The hemocytometer is made of a specially designed glass slide that is thicker than an ordinary cover slip. It measures 7.4 x 3.3 cm. The slide has four grooves that form three platforms. The middle platform is wider and is divided into two halves by a short transverse groove. Each half has a grid engraved on it.
The grid is composed of nine large squares, but only the middle one is the counting chamber used for counting microorganisms. This large square is 2 mm in length and width, and 0.1 mm in depth, with a volume of 0.1 x 2 x 2 mm

● Formula: Particles per μl volume = Counted particles/(Counted surface×chamber depth×Dilution)
